Stop #1: Boca Raton

Monday September 21, 2009

A brief good morning to New York!

We grabbed some breakfast in the terminal dedicated to JetBlue (an airline we will get to know well over the next few weeks). We caught our 8am flight to Ft Lauderdale and arrived at 11am.
Holy old people! I know Florida is full of retired people but I swear this was a scene from Dawn of the Dead. Was I walking through a set for the sequel? Yikes.

We jumped in the rental car and we were off to Boca Raton! The resort grounds were endless. Our one bedroom suite was easily 1000 sq ft with a brand new full kitchen. Our building also had its own pool separate from the beach club’s three pools. Nice.

We unloaded our luggage and did a quick grocery shop. We raced back and had a good’ole fried chicken meal we picked up pre-made from the store (It was actually as good as Popeye’s. Yummers!). Roel was promptly out the door to work and I organized our new temporary home and tested out the pool area before Roel got back.

I made us dinner and we vegged out in front of the tv before calling it an early night. See you tomorrow. :)
